A French porcelain lamp with a light green glaze that imitates the old Chinese celadon glaze. The shape of the lamp with its surface ornamentation and the two handles as dragon heads is also reminiscent of old Chinese vases made of bronze or porcelain.

The nose of one of the dragon heads was half broken off. I had the broken part repaired by Mr Kühnel. In addition, the font collar was plastered quite crookedly and therefore had to be replaced.

The vase depicts two hunters, probably in old Chinese costume, shooting at some kind of hunting animals. This genre scene, however, has nothing in common with the old Chinese ornamentation; it was very probably designed in France at the beginning of the 20th century.

With its light grey appearance, the glass ball perfectly matches the grey-green glaze of the porcelain. Its reduced colourfulness and harmonious dimensions give the lamp a distinguished, restrained elegance, to which the old ball shade also contributes very well.

Cleaning and repairs:
The crooked collar replaced with another one. Mr Kühnel repaired the handle.

Lamp body:
The entire lamp body (foot and vase) of light green-glazed porcelain ("celadon glaze"). Foot Ø 117 mm. Without signature.
Vase with a probably Chinese hunting scene and 2 handles. Total Ø 161 mm. Handles in the shape of dragon heads (one nose broken off).
Vase is at the same time a font. Font collar was cemented crookedly.

Burner:
14’’’ Kosmos burner of Hugo Schneider, Leipzig.
Wick knob marked: HS (Logo of Hugo Schneider).
Flat wick 66 mm.

Glass chimney:
14’’’ Kosmos chimney. Height 250 mm, Ø fitter 53 mm.
Marked: Spécial recuit - Made in France 14''' + crown and garland.

Shade and shade holder:
Ball shade, colourless glass, frosted inside, engraved vine leaves decor outside. Thick glass. Without slip fitter.
Height 146 mm, Ø bottom opening 62 and bulge 160 mm.
Unusual globe holder made of sheet brass, Ø 96 mm outside and 56 mm inside.

Lamp dimensions:
Height up to collar 21.2 cm, total height with chimney 50.0 cm.
Total weight 1800 g.
