L.240

A small porcelain lamp (probably of French origin with German porcelain) as a kind of twin lamp to L.302.

I had two small Art Nouveau tulip shades, unusual with their angular shape, which are very similar in style. For these tulip shades I wanted to buy two almost identical, small lamps. This worked out well with the lamps L.240 and L.302. After a long search, I found these lamps completely independently of each other on eBay France, with an identical shape, the same base and very similar, fine painting.

The cast brass base is glued directly to the vase base. The porcelain has no porcelain mark at the bottom, while the twin lamp bears the signature of the German manufactory Eduard Liebmann (Schney, Bavaria). Due to the great similarity, however, this porcelain vase can also be attributed to the same manufactory. Here, the fine golden decorative lines are still well preserved, while the other lamp has no decorative lines at all.

With this lamp, a charming duo of small porcelain lamps has been created.

Vase of white porcelain, diagonally ribbed, 2 large and 2 small bouquets of flowers as well as golden ornamental lines in fine painting, Ø 88 mm, without porcelain mark.
Lamp body is at the same time a font.
