This is a rather insignificant French figural lamp with a boy who is sleeping on a vine. It is also possible that the lamp was a former electric lamp and was later converted into a kerosene/paraffin lamp by adding a glass font. Probably made in the 1920s.

The boy, long-haired and barefoot, sleeps calmly, supported by a thick, old vine. Flowers and ears of corn are scattered on the ground at his feet. There is also a strange, zigzag-shaped wreath, the meaning of which is not clear to me. The whole figure, including the pillar and font support, has a brown patina.

Behind the sleeping boy, below the pillar, a hole can be seen, which probably stems from previous wiring.

The British tulip goes very well with the lamp, as it harmonizes well with the slim, tall shape of the lamp.

Lamp body:
Base made of sheet brass, round, Ø 102 mm. An iron weight in the base. Lamp body in the shape of a sleeping boy made of bronzed cast zinc. A thin pipe rises behind the boy as a curved column with a matching font support as a closure. There is a hole below the column (from an earlier electrification?).
Font made of clear green glass, optically vertically ribbed, slightly stepped, firmly plastered, Ø 103 mm. Font is not removable.

Burner:
8’’’ Kosmos burner of an unknown French producer.
Wick knob marked: T.H. + woman carrying a torch. This logo is attributed by Gerhard Bruder to Dutrut, Bernier & Desrues in France.
Flat wick 37 mm.

Glass chimney:
8’’’ Kosmos chimney. Height 233 mm, Ø fitter 37 mm.
Marked: Cristal - Importé de Tchécoslovaquie 8''' + picture of a mill.

Shade and shade holder:
British tulip shade, colourless glass, partially frosted, flat etched ornaments, top rim rectangular corrugated.
Height 155 mm, Ø fitter 66 and top rim 130 mm.
70 mm globe holder for 8’’’ burners.

Lamp dimensions:
Height up to collar 32.2 cm, total height with chimney 59.0 cm.
Total weight 1790 g.
