L.034

A small but fine French pillar lamp with a rare ruby red coloured crystal font. The typically playful, ornamentally openwork base of cast brass is also an ornament. The short column, on the other hand, is made of simple, vertically ribbed brass.

The lamp is not large, but exudes grandeur, as the font looks very noble with its shape, colour and cut ornamentation. It is not an everyday lamp. I did not have to clean the lamp, it was very well cleaned and polished.

Some years ago I managed to buy a very beautiful St. Louis tulip shade with a cranberry coloured top rim. Today the prices for such tulip shades are prohibitively high. The tulip shade gives the small lamp elegance, as it harmonises very well with the ruby-red font.
