L.261
Somehow love at first sight... Strikingly patterned, large Champlevé disc at the base in mostly blue tonalities and contrasting with the pink font. This pretentious French lamp with its unusual shape appealed to me right away and had to come to me....
The base is a large, round, slightly upturned disc of cast brass. On top of it is a large Champlevé disc, precisely adjusted in curvature. The short brass column is screwed into the base. The column carries a much smaller Champlevé disc at the top as well as an ornamentally cast metal peg. The glass font is cemented into this peg. I have carefully ground and then polished all the brass rods of the Champlevé discs, since they were dark tarnished. Now they shine very nicely.
The British tulip shade with an Art Nouveau pattern matches the lamp unusually well in shape, colour and decoration. The tulip shade and the font have the same cranberry colour. This has created a slender and charming lamp.
