This lamp from France is a simple looking lamp but with high quality lamp parts: The base is made of a heavy, finely veined, greenish onyx marble. The short column is ornamentally cast and beautifully finished with two Champlevé rings at the top and bottom. The font is made of colourless, transparent crystal glass, which sparkles beautifully under the sunshine even without any cut pattern.

Due to the larger base made of onyx marble and the rest of the lamp body made of cast brass, the lamp is very heavy.

For this lamp, too, I was looking for a shade that could harmoniously support the play of colours in the base/column combination. A tulip shade produced in the second half of the 20th century was ideally suited for this purpose. In such cases, I have no qualms about putting a new shade on an old lamp if it can enhance the overall look of the lamp very advantageously. Due to the slightly wider fitter width of the tulip, however, I had to search for a long time for a globe holder that could accommodate the tulip.
