A classic, typical Parisienne lamp from France. In addition to the three glass cabochons in different colours, the metal shade also has three portraits of women, which are also repeated in the font. This makes this lamp one of the most beautiful "Parisienne" lamps I have seen so far.

The women's medallions are printed in polychrome. The embossed decoration on the brass surface is perfectly matching on all three areas (base, vase and shade), as Parisienne lamps should be. After cleaning and polishing, the lamp shines as if it had left the manufactory just yesterday.

Unfortunately, the bead fringes were badly damaged and several strands of beads were missing. Therefore, Ara made a completely new glass bead hanging. We chose a zigzag pattern with harmonising colours. The original bead fringes on these lamps were always monochrome (very often in a green colour) and had a uniform length. However, they rarely remained undamaged, as the cotton threads on which the individual beads were strung together became very brittle and torn over time. As a result, many strands of beads have been lost.

I think our solution here with this lamp is much more appealing than trying to replace lost strands of beads with new beads, but which do not match the original beads in size or colour.
