A pillar lamp made of brass parts that may have been a candlestick in the past. I have completely cleaned the column, which was covered with a grey-green patina, with diligent sanding work and completed the lamp to my taste.

The column consists of brass parts. The brass base is soldered together from two castings (unfortunately somewhat twisted). The unusual capital gives the column a high-quality appearance. The column might have been a candlestick in former times. Age is undetermined (probably from the second half of the 19th century). I have the impression that the column was put together from different parts; it could have been a commission from a church.

I discovered the font made of colourless, clear crystal glass, which is elaborately cut, in eBay USA. It came from Australia! In order to integrate this font into the column, I first had to replace the threaded tube that came with it with a new threaded rod, as I couldn't find a nut that matched the original thread. I soldered a round brass plate to the brass undermount of the font and a nut to it, so that I can now screw the font onto the new threaded rod.

I installed the 20'' Caroly burner by Carl Holy with the matching chimney. The lamp was completed with a tulip shade of Vianne.

Base of decorated cast brass, soldered together from 2 parts, on 4 paw feet, 16 x 16 cm, Ø 223 mm.
Column of sheet brass, punched ornamentation, with capital decorated in relief, probably old candlestick (total height 47 cm).
Font of crystal glass, elaborately cut, Ø 165 mm, screwed to the threaded rod.

Wick knob marked: Logo of Carl Holy.

Glass chimney:
20’’’ Matador chimney with slim bulge. Height 270 mm, Ø fitter 67 mm.
Marked: S.Reich - Made in Czechoslovakia; backside: Cristal Patent (rest illegible).

Shade and shade holder:
Tulip shade by Vianne (signed), frosted glass, pink above, colourless below, transparent motifs, fluted top rim. Lipped fitter.
Height 184 mm, Ø fitter 100 and top rim 220 mm.
100 mm globe holder for 20’’’ burners.

Lamp dimensions:
Height up to collar 59.0 cm, total height with chimney 89.5 cm.
Total weight 4450 g.
