L.045

A glass lamp with a captivating glass colour in blue, sparsely painted. The lamp came from France, but could just as well have come from Germany or Austria. Manufacture probably 1900-1920.

The whole lamp is made of mould blown transparent blue glass, beautifully shaped and sparsely painted with small flowers in white and orange. The captivating blue colour alone is a real eye-catcher! Add to that the elegant, goblet-like design, which gives the lamp a festive feel.

One downer was the burner, whose basket was crushed and destroyed on the inside. So I had to replace it with a good replacement burner. Fitted with a new wick, the burner burns beautifully and still.

I put a colourless, fine St. Louis tulip shade on the lamp, which does not disturb the colour scheme of the lamp.

The whole lamp exudes a somewhat playful cheerfulness. It is definitely one of my favourite lamps, as I love this blue colour very much.
